Cherie Sweetbottom is a professionally-trained actress who has performed vivid character-driven burlesque all over the U.S. and internationally since 2011. Known for her “hypnotizing” posterior and megawatt smile, she is a versatile performer who effortlessly shifts from high-glamour classic burlesque to pop culture inspired nerdlesque, from sultry to silly and poignant to ridiculous. She is an official Naked Girl at Naked Girls Reading DC, producer of DC’s premiere nerdlesque troupe the Evil League of Ecdysiasts (established 2012) and the live music and classic burlesque revue House of Sweetbottom (established 2014). She performs frequently with DC performance art mainstay Astro Pop Events in their annual productions of Elvis Birthday Fight Club and America the Game Show in DC and Baltimore.
Cherie was voted DC’s Best Performance Artist first runner-up in the 2016 and 2017 Washington City Paper’s Reader’s Poll and was a finalist for the 2017 New York Burlesque Festival’s Golden Pastie Award for Rear of the Year. She has appeared in the New York Burlesque Festival, DC’s Capital Fringe Festival, the Americana Burlesque and Sideshow Festival, the New York Nerdlesque Festival, several regional tours, the Burlesque is Coming national tour, and has performed with a number of live bands, including the Brian Newman Band, Jonny Grave and the Tombstones, Foggy Bottom Whomp Stompers, and Tongue in Cheek Jazz Band.
Lords and Ladies, with almost 30 years of Renaissance Festival entertainment experience, Les S. Moore Will Steal Your Stuff! is custom designed to make the audience shout, "Huzzah!"
With a twinkling eye and nimble fingers, Les reveals to the audience how they can protect themselves from pickpockets...well, except for himself, of course.
